Man Utd reach Di Maria agreement

Manchester United have agreed a €81 million deal with Real Madrid for winger Angel Di Maria.

Goal reported on Saturday that the Premier League
side had made a breakthrough in their attempts to
sign the 26-year-old to Old Trafford , with the player
having decided that he wanted to move to Old
Trafford.
With talks between the two sides having accelerated
in the last 24 hours, Di Maria has now arrived in
Manchester and is expected to agree personal terms
and complete a medical on Tuesday.
Goal understands that Louis van Gaal's side will offer
Di Maria a wage packet that will eclipse Wayne
Rooney's €360,000-per-week deal, including the
Argentine's €6m signing-on fee and additional
bonuses.
United will pay Madrid a British record fee in the
region of €81m, including add-ons, for the former
Benfica star, surpassing the €63m that Chelsea
shelled out to Liverpool to take Fernando Torres to
Stamford Bridge in 2011.
Goal revealed back in July that an agreement between
the Premier League club and Real Madrid was close
and Ancelotti confirmed on Sunday that Di Maria had
said his goodbyes ahead of a move to Manchester.
Di Maria will add to the signings of Athletic Bilbao
midfielder Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Argentina
international defender Marcos Rojo, who joined from
Sporting Lisbon earlier in August.
As revealed by Goal, the deal for Di Maria, including
bonuses, salary package and various other add-ons
and bonuses, could surpass the €188m mark .
The 26-year-old, who fell down the pecking order at
Madrid following the summer arrivals of Toni Kroos
and James Rodriguez, could go straight into the
United squad for the Premier League meeting with
Burnley on Saturday.

Suspected suicide bomber arrested at Lagos Airport.

LAGOS—A suspected suicide bomber was Monday arrested by security operatives at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
The yet-to-be-identified physically-challenged suspect was apprehended with suspected
explosives around his neck at the annex office of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, NAMA,
office located inside the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos.
Unconfirmed report said he was arrested while attempting to detonate the explosives.
The suspect who later handed over to the police by Airport security operatives, was subsequently taken
to the Airport Police headquarters along the Ikeja- Airport road.
Reacting to the incidence, NAMA General Manager, Public Affairs, Mr. Supo Atobatele, said the disabled
suspect was on the ground making phone calls and when accosted, his incoherent explanation led to his
arrest by security operatives.
Nabbed: An alleged Boko Haram suicide bomber arrested at the Lagos Airport.

According to Atobatele, “The attention of the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, has been
drawn to insinuations that a suspected suicide
bomber was arrested at one of the agency’s facilities at the Murtala Muhammed International
Airport, Lagos on Monday (yesterday). The basic
truth however, is that the said suspect was on the
ground making phone calls along the airport road
close to CENTREX, an annex office of NAMA when
the agency’s security personnel accosted and
questioned him.
“His incoherent explanation exposed him to the
security personnel who later found on him some
devices suspected to be explosives. He was
subsequently handed over to the Airport Police
Command for further investigation. The Managing
Director, Ibrahim Abdulsalam has commended the
security personnel for their vigilance and prompt
arrest of the suspect.”
Efforts to get response from the Commissioner of
Police, Airport Command proved abortive as
reporters were told that the police was still
investigating the matter.
Due to the incident, security has been beefed up at
the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria, FAAN gates
as people going in and out of the premises were
thoroughly screened while their bags were
searched by security operatives.

Ebola: Nano Siler fails heaith requirements- Health Minister

The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, on Monday said that the Federal government was
withholding its approval for the Anti-Ebola drug Nano-Silver produced by a Nigerian scientist in the
diaspora. Chukwu made this known when he received the U.S Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr James Entwistle, in his office in Abuja. He said that the Nano Silver drug, which was made available to the Emergency Operations Centre in Lagos on Aug. 14, did not meet basic research requirements.
“The experimental drug, Nano Silver did not meet the requirements of the National Health Research
Ethics Code. “Accordingly, the approval was withheld by the National Health Research Ethics Committee,”
Chukwu said. He said the ambassador’s visit was an opportunity to share ideas and information on Ebola virus. “He is the spokesperson for the United States’ government here in Nigeria, and so he came to me
as the Chief Public Health Officer of the country to exchange views with me,’’ he said.
The minister said Entwistle also visited to know if there was any new development that recently
cropped up on the Ebola virus. Entwistle had commended the efforts of the Federal
Government in curbing the spread of the Ebola virus in the country. He said the aim of the visit was to discuss further on the anti-Ebola cooperation between the U.S government and the Nigerian government. The ambassador also praised the work done at the emergency operation centre and the isolation centre, saying he understood that they were working hard. “You have all seen the headlines over the weekend, this is an issue that we have to keep working hard on, it may be with us for a while but there are some encouraging signs. “Your government is doing a good job on contact tracing; I noticed when I flew back here on Thursday night into the country, before I left the plane I filed in the questionnaire. “I was very impressed because I had to put in my seat number which is a very good idea, so that if you have to trace the guy who was seating next to me you will know where I am. “I have been very impressed by this thing so I
encourage the government of Nigeria to keep at it, which I know they will,’’ he said. Entwistle said the two countries had a broad partnership to keep collaborating, cooperating and working hard to make the world a better place. He said he could not think of a more important example of cooperation than the Ebola cooperation. On the U.S experimental drug on Ebola, Entwistle said there were no sufficient quantity for now to be given to Nigeria, therefore, the focus should be on isolation, screening and prevention.

15 Things Nigerians Miss while Living Abroad

There is no doubt that living abroad is one of the desires of most Nigerians, it is one of the most unforgettable and incredible experiences that anyone will love to partake in. However, there are quite a few things that you may miss outside Nigeria. Yes, you may have taken these things for granted, wait till you have spent few months abroad, by then, the excitement and fun of the new city must have worn off. This is when you may start missing the some things about Nigeria and you’ll shockingly be longing for them.

Here are 15 things Nigerians miss while living abroad:

1.Visitation from friends, neighbours and families.

There is nothing as unique as the visits we get from our friends and neighbours in Nigeria, especially from our families in the village or our home town. During these visits, food is served and stories are shared. It is one experience that brings oneness and bond between people. Most people living abroad do not enjoy this luxury and they miss home badly when they are lying alone in their apartments.

2. Free car parks.

You don’t need to worry about traffic tickets when you are in Nigeria. There is no police ticket for you when you default in your parking space, it is either you are called out to re-park your car or warned. When you park wrongly abroad, you pay the penalty fee. In Nigeria, you can park an airplane on the street without stress.

3. Street shops.

You would definitely miss the street shops in Nigeria when you travel abroad. The reason is, these street shops provide you with everything you may need early in the morning or late intth  night when the markets are closed. On every street, you will find Aboki with small kiosk selling a variety of household items or a pharmacy store right at the corner of the street.

4. Street Jamz.
You must have realized that most develop countries are noise free, sometimes; you can feel a pin drop because making a noise is regarded as an offence. Come to Nigeria and experience something that will blow your mind, the jamz that comes from different shops can be exciting because it is one avenue where
you can know the hottest tracks in the music industry without surfing the internet.

5. The TV shows

Nigerian TV soaps and reality shows are like no other, you can’t compare them with American or British TV shows because they are have been uniquely produced. Some of the TV soaps have good story and once you start viewing them, you will get hooked. Most Nigerians living abroad miss these shows because they tell a lot about our lifestyles and how to tackle most problems we encounter in our daily lives.

6. Lagos bus conductors

Even though, bus conductors in Lagos can be annoying, you can’t but miss the way they behave especially when they have a disagreement with someone in the bus. It’s always an interesting and memorable scenario.

7. Speaking daily vernacular – Pidgin English
Pidgin English makes communication very easy among Nigerians. Nigerians living abroad miss speaking their favourite slangs such as ‘How far?’, ‘Wetin dey happen?’, ‘How you dey?’.

8. Owambe Parties

Nigerian parties are famous for some reasons– the fashionable clothes, foods, friends and families. They are the only massive weekend parties in the world and also the grooviest. Owambe party is a norm in Nigeria and if you like it or not, you will find yourself in one, celebrating with friends and families, dancing, eating and drinking with them. After all, a great celebration reveals itself wherever there is food, music and of course, Nigerians.

9. Market haggling
You may never know what you have until you have travelled abroad and discovered how difficult it is to bargain on some items because they come with price tags. In Nigeria, everything is very affordable and you can easily buy things without price tags. You have the freedom of down pricing every product with the sellers which is what you may never experience in malls and supermarkets abroad.

10. People who do everything for you
You can not get free labour outside Africa which is one thing you would definitely miss. There are a lot of relatives, friends and neighbours who would love to wash for you, cook and clean for you without asking for
anything.

11. Affordable housing

Life in Nigeria may not be so rosy when compared to the life outside the shores of Africa, but when you calculate how much you are spending abroad and what half of that money can fetch for you in Nigerian housing, you would love to jump the next air plane to live in Nigeria again.

12. Cool weather
The weather condition in Nigeria is beautiful. There is no need to worry about snow, hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes. The sun may be scorching but it is better than the fear of unfriendly weather conditions outside the country.

13. Nigerian hospitality
The Nigerian police may not be your friend but the people in Nigeria are always out to help you in one way or the other. Nigerians don’t mind their business when things happen and this is what makes them unique. We bet you would miss this hospitality if you’ve ever experienced it once in Nigeria.

14. Street foods

Many times we have heard people say that they can also get Nigerian foods abroad especially in London but we’re sure it can never be like it is back home. Nigerian foods found in London are either overpriced or packaged to make it look like it is ‘made in London’. Naija street foods have a unique flavour that you can’t find anywhere. For instance: Akara has a local taste that you won’t trade for anything, its delicious and smells
good.

15. Daily Lagos Scenes

There is nothing as interesting as Lagos city’s daily scenes. It’s been said that, “If you can live in Lagos, you can live in any city in the world”. People living abroad miss the daily scenes of Lagos – the traffic jams, the street vendors, Lagos transport hustles, Agbero shouting destination names – “Oshodi Oshodi’, the odd feeling they get when people push past them without saying sorry, the fights, street dance performances and many more.
There is no place like home. What do you miss most about Nigeria?

Tips To Getting You More Creative

Creativity, like any other skill, can be nourished. It's important to remember, though, that it takes time and dedication to tap into your inner wellspring of natural creative ability.
With that in mind, here are nine spiritual tips that help you tap into your highest creative self, and tune out negativity and distractions – no matter what your creative endeavor is.

1. Know that ego will only take you so far.
If your art is only about you all the time, you need to think bigger. Your art is in service to something much larger than yourself. Even if you achieve fame through your creativity, you should never forget that your achievements are fickle, and due to the work of a support team around you.

2. Use your voice to speak to the truth – not only for yourself but for others who are voiceless.
Bring the pain of the world into your art, keep reminding the world to hold the suffering of others in its gaze. Use your voice as a prayer.

3. Watch less TV (and read more books).
TV is the ultimate state of distraction and doesn't help you connectin with yourself. You can get lost in other people’s (imaginary) lives. Many people waste a lot of time watching rubbish. Use your time as if it were running out (it is).

4. Do not read negative reviews, and do not write negative reviews.
Support other artists in their endeavors. Disengage from gossip. Don’t compare yourself to people on Facebook. Don’t write anything hateful or hurtful on Twitter or Facebook. Use your words to help people reach the light.

5. Be clear about what you want from life.
The universe cannot respond to vague intention. If you want to become an author, a screenwriter, an opera singer, an actor, have conviction. Trust your vision for your life.

6. Honor what is sacred, and that includes your longing to write or create.
A ritualized life helps you create meaning in a challenging world in which you struggle to be brave. Even just blessing food, or dedicating your yoga practice to someone who is ill, or silently thanking the universe for its benevolence brings you into alignment with a deep dignity in our lives about what it means to be human.

7. Talk less, listen more.
To create , you have to become a good listener – to the world around you, and to yourself. Listening is a skill. You have to be silent in order to listen. We have to be open and receptive, and free of judgements. These are all great practices in themselves.

8. Share your knowledge and teach others who need to know what you already know.
Don’t live from a place of constriction. Share with abundance. Give away your best information, spread it like love.

9. Keep learning your craft.
Never imagine you’ve "made it" or you have nothing new to figure out. Deepen your creative practice. Become more curious about it and your relationship with your voice. Humility helps us begin again and again, each time with wider eyes, deeper ears and more compassionate touch.

African Ebola-infected Countries Banned Flights in Ivory Coast and others

The Ivory Coast announced Monday that it has banned all flights from countries hit by Ebola as part of steps to prevent the deadly virus from reaching the west African nation.

The government said in a statement that it has forbidden all “carriers from transporting passengers” from these countries.
It has also decided “on the suspension until further notice” flights by its national airline, Air Cote d’Ivoire, to and from these locations.

The government did not name the countries but nearly 1,000 people have died from Ebola in Liberia, Sierre Leone, Guinea and Nigeria, which are all in West Africa.

The government said it has also decided to increase preventive measures at Abidjan airport where “all passengers on arrival will have to have their temperatures taken with an infrared thermometer.”

Ebola causes flu-like symptoms including fever. In the worst cases, it causes unstoppable bleeding.
It spreads among humans via bodily fluids including sweat, so can be spread by simply touching an infected person. With no vaccine, patients believed to have caught the virus have to be isolated to stop further contagion.

No case of Ebola has surfaced in the Ivory Coast which began implementing measures to prevent the spread of the disease in March.

British Airways said August 5 that it has suspended flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone following concerns about the spread of Ebola.

Dubai’s Emirates Airline said earlier this month it was suspending flights to Guinea.

Pan-African airline Aruj and ASKY suspended all flights to and from the capitals of Liberia and Sierra Leone following the death of a Liberian passenger at the end of July in the Nigerian city of Lagos.

Chad on Saturday suspended all flights from Nigeria.

Cure For Ebloa At Last?

For Ebola, an illness of exceptional contagion which
first outbreak of the virus was in 1976, its origin
traced to Congo and Sudan, cure for the dreaded
disease seems to have been found in the United
States (US).
Two American citizens in Liberia struck by the
ailment while on medical missionary work, Nancy
Writebol and Dr. Ken Brantly flown to the US to get
treatment have improved tremendously, after being
given the experimental drug.
The two Ebola victims, who had travelled 6,000
miles from West Africa in special aircraft, were
admitted at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, are
now getting much better. They were unable to walk
on arrival, but are now doing so.
The report named the serum as ZMapp – an
experimental drug, even not yet approved for
clinical trials, although already used on small
number of monkeys. It was grown in green house
with genetically modified tobacco. So far, the drug is
working well on the Ebola patients.
Manufactured by a US pharmaceutical company,
ZMapp was supposed to hit the market in 2015, but
is being tried because of the current deadly
epidemic caused by the virus now ravaging Liberia,
Sierra Leone and Guinea with nearly 900 people
killed by the disease which has made inroad into
Nigeria. With one person dead and eight people
confirmed positive to Ebola, Africa’s most populous
country could be fatally threatened.
The two Americans have reportedly got up on their
own after the drug was administered on them, seen
as a big surprise. They are already recovering.
Patients afflicted by Ebola are usually quarantined,
going into isolation in the four West African
countries where the disease is ravaging, well
protected and temperatures taken twice a day.
The (US) plans to send 50 health experts to West
Africa and help the health authorities in combating
the scourge. Ebola is virtually out of control in
Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea as dozens of
doctors and nurses have died in efforts to give
medicare to victims.
Unlike Africa with poor ineffective and obsolete
medical facilities, the US has top class
infrastructure and medical personnel to take quick
care of Ebola victims. Among these are the Centre
for Disease Control, CDC, the National Institute of
Allergy and Infections Diseases, IAID, and several
others who are up to the challenge. The
experimental serum has brought some ray of hope
to the global community including Nigeria.
The World Health Organisation has contributed
$100 million to fighting Ebola and so too the World
Bank, concerned about the spread and devastating
effect of the scourge.
In a radio interview, Professor Oluyemi Akinloye,
head of Clinical Chemistry, Medical Laboratory,
University of Lagos, said only little has been done in
Nigeria towards research for Ebola cure. No magic
in scientific Ebola cure. It’s a big challenge for
Africa. No magic in scientific research, as there are
protocols to be followed.
Asked about the Ebola experimental drug, he
seemed not aware of this development, but agreed
that some vaccines have been produced in Nigeria
and currently tested on mice which is quite good.
“The Ebola epidemic can be opportunity to test
these vaccines and speed up trials in Africa. We are
dealing with humans. Emphasis should be on
precaution to control the spread. All scientists in
Nigeria are coming together,” he stated.
Akinloye assured that physicians are talking, not
doing so bad in fighting the epidemic.
On Professor Maurice Iwu’s claim that bitter kola
could be a remedy, he noted that this was still in
experimental stage.
“Traditional medicine has its protocol and a lot still
has to be done.”
Other contributors to the radio programme lamented
that it was shameful that since 1976, there has
been no vaccine for Ebola.
One of them asked what the Federal Government
has been doing since the outbreak in Liberia, Sierra
Leone, etc.
Chief Research Director, Research Institute of
Traditional Medicine, Dr. Idowu, disclosed that
research had been conducted on the virus. “We’ve
gone to roots. In Yoruba, Ebola is called Ajakale-
Arun, which is medicinal plant,” he stated. On
whether bitter kola can cure Ebola, he said it had
not been tried yet.

Ofilispeaks Reports – Africa Finds Its Own Cure For #Ebola

Breaking Satirical News LAGOS, NIGERIA – While
America is busy injecting defenseless rats with
the Ebola virus to systematically extract
antibodies that can maybe “cure” Ebola. A group of
extraordinary Africans have come together to find
a more humane and effective cure for the disease.
Sources confirm that this potential cure does not
involve harming rats, monkeys or any sort of
animal and neither was it created in any fancy or
expensive African research University or Hospital
(that is if they even exist). These brilliant
scientists… I mean pastors gathered inside
Africa’s most lavishly equipped and weekly funded
medical research facility… the Nigerian
church… where several other cures have been
discovered in the past couple of years. Including
the cure for Aids, the cure for Cancer, the cure for
Poverty and even the cure for Boko Haram - just
ask Pastor T.B. Joshua! So while America
is still playing around with rats, these
Nigerian pastors are hard at work trying to find a
permanent Human solution for Ebola and they are
close! Their proposed cure, unofficially called
Annointing-Oil-Z TM, has significant advantages
over the recent American Z-mapp TM serum used
recently on 2 American health workers. For
starters it does not need to be administered
intravenously, it can be administered with a
simple push, I mean touch of oil to the forehead.
Another advantage is that the oil is not
temperature sensitive. Unlike the Z-mappT TM
serum that has to be kept at subzero temperature
and thawed out naturally, the Annointing-Oil-
ZTM has shown significant stability in both low
and high temperatures. With just a few scriptures
and Annointing-Oil-Z TM patients who had the
Ebola fever or Malaria fever (or any kind of fever
for that matter) instantly showed a dramatic
improvement in their condition. Data is
inconclusive at the moment on the full potential of
the drug and whether it can be commercialized in
the near future. However, the initial results are
promising and as more and more pastors from top
Nigerian religious institutions come together to
tackle this disease, the chances of a commercial
solution rise even higher. What is most
interesting about this cure is that it is 100% crowd
funded by thousands of worshipers every week. In
addition to that, the Government gives significant
tax breaks to these religious research facilities to
encourage their research work. “Without the
Government tax breaks we would struggle to
maintain our research facilities and also struggle
to expand our health and healing ministries,” said
Nigerian Clergyman Titus Theophilus, who
explained that the Government tax breaks plays a
significant role in ensuring that the ministry is well
funded. “Thanks to them (The Government) we
are able to get our message across to other parts
of West Africa and have even been able to
purchase a private jet for our head Pastor in case
he needs to meet with other top researchers from
across the world.” So while the American
Government is busy spending millions of dollars to
build top University/Hospital research
facilities and killing rats and monkeys in the
process, the Nigerian Government is instead
busy investing in a much humane and arguably
better solution which does not put a
burden on their tax payers, a solution that is
powered by weekly crowd funded tithes with
additional but indirect support via Government tax
breaks. At the end of the day the Nigerian solution
is brilliant as it does not put any pressure on the
Nigerian Government to address consistent
University strike issues or even Hospital strike
issues. I mean who needs fully functional medical
facilities and top-notch University building when
your country has some of the largest and most
expensive churches in the world? At this rate, a
permanent end to Ebola might just be around the
corner and it will shock the world to know that the
solution Annointing-Oil-Z TM was made in Nigeria!
NOTE: No rats were harmed in the writing of this
article. P.S. If you liked this post, you might enjoy

ZMapp, the Ebola Experimental Drug Sparks Up Ethical Controversy

WASHINGTON (AFP) – The decision to use an experimental drug to treat two Americans infected with Ebola, while nearly 1,000 Africans have already died from the deadly epidemic, has sparked controversy — but US experts say it was ethically justified.
The World Health Organization announced Wednesday it was convening a special meeting next week to explore using experimental drugs in the West African outbreak, after two health workers from the US charity Samaritan’s Purse were treated with a drug called ZMapp.
The experimental drug is still in an extremely early phase of development and had only been tested previously on monkeys. It has never been produced on a large scale. There is no proven treatment or cure for Ebola.
Samaritan’s Purse members Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol, however, have shown improvements since taking the drug.
- Why not in Africa? -
The news has prompted calls to make the drug available to hard-hit Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
Nigeria, where there have been seven confirmed cases so far, has already announced talks with the US Centers for Disease Control on the possibility of getting access to ZMapp.
And three leading Ebola experts, including Peter Piot, who co-discovered the Ebola virus in 1976 and is director of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, urged the drug be made more widely available.
“It is highly likely that if Ebola were now spreading in Western countries, public health authorities would give at-risk patients access to experimental drugs or vaccines,” said the joint statement Wednesday, according to the Los Angeles Times.
“The African countries where the current outbreaks of Ebola are occurring should have the same opportunity,” it added.
Mapp Pharmaceuticals, the US company behind the drug, said any decision to use the drug should be made by treating doctors within regulatory guidelines, and added it is working to increase production.
- Risk the untested? -
But US President Barack Obama said Wednesday afflicted countries should focus on proven public health measures, rather than an untested drug.
However, “I will continue to seek information about what we’re learning with respect to these drugs going forward,” he added.
Experts said extending the use of ZMapp is not cut and dry.
They also dismissed questions over the fairness of offering ZMapp first, and so far only, to the two white Americans who have been infected.
“When you have that high a fatality rate, the pressures might appear irresistable. but you do have to remember there is harm that can come from unproven treatments,” said G. Kevin Donovan, director of Georgetown University center for bioethics.
He said Brantly and Writebol were good candidates for taking the risky drug, since their medical training would have helped them understand the extent of the danger.
Furthermore, he said, they were especially deserving because “these are people who deliberately put themselves in harms way.”
Many of the dead have been African health workers and doctors, also infected while caring for patients. Sierra Leone’s top Ebola doctor, Omar Khan, died July 29.
But Arthur Kaplan, director of New York University’s medical ethics division, said the key difference is that “the religious mission (the Americans) worked for took it on themselves to find the drug,” he said.
“I think we do need a system to ration scarce drugs, but no international group has suggested anything,” he said.
He further stressed that even though they have had a good response so far, it is “far, far” from proven that the drug is actually beneficial.
“The ethical plan to follow is to redouble efforts to stop the epidemic by prevention.”
Nancy Kass, a Johns Hopkins professor who formerly worked on the WHO’s ethics committee, stressed that “there is a reason why drugs have to be tested before we give them to people.”
It’s “very easy to paint it as if there’s nothing to lose,” she said, but “I think there is something to lose.”
Beyond the risk of the drug being harmful, it can be harder to understand the effects of a drug outside the controlled parameters of a study protocol, she said.
Whether it’s ultimately worth it, is “a decision that should be made by the top experts in the world,” Kass said, something she hopes will happen next week at the WHO.

You Like Him? How To Start A Convos With The Man You Fancy.

I saw the picture of a woman proposing to her
man a few days ago and a lot of women have
been bashing this woman for getting on one knee
and proposing. They think this is a man’s
“responsibility” and only he should be taking this
step.
I totally disagree. Anybody can propose to
anybody, there are risks involved regardless of
who gets down on one knee and pops the almighty
question. However, that is not the point of this
article.
The point of this article is to nudge a woman who
wants to strike the first conversation with a man,
in the right direction.
But if you are a woman or man who thinks women
shouldn’t propose, women shouldn’t talk to a man
first, women should take a century to play hard to
get and women should never take some actions,
then this is the part where you stop reading and
return to 1922 where you emerged from.
However, if you belong to the school of thought
that allows this, then be my guest and see how a
woman can start a conversation with a guy she
fancies. Leggo!
Let your eyes lock: they say a lot is said through
the eyes, so this should kickstart what you hope
to achieve. When you see the man you really like
and would not mind having a conversation with,
then instead of waiting forever, you can let your
gazes lock, smile a little and then slowly look
away. You can try this two more times to drive
your point home. Chances are that he would be by
your side beating you to that conversation before
a third time.
Ask how he is enjoying the party/event: if you met
at a public gathering, you can ask him how he is
enjoying it, if he is having fun and his best part of
the whole thing. A conversation is most likely
going to stem from this.
Laugh at his jokes: or anything he says at all, even
his comments about the weather. A man knows
that a woman who laughs at his jokes is feeling
him and that man is likely to start a conversation
with you before you do with him. If he beats you to
it, then hey! You are in luck.
Compliment his looks: it does not matter if the
shirt does not match the tie, you would confess
you did not mean it sometimes in the future. For
now, compliment his looks and everything and let
his attention be yours alone. All yours.
Join in the conversation with the others: this
would work if you are both in the company of
mutual friends. It would give you an opportunity to
have a reason to say something to him. Hopefully,
he takes the bait and strikes a full conversation
with you.
Buy him a drink: if it is at a bar or club then this
would totally work. Buy him a drink and see if he
won’t be the conversation starter.
Just talk!
You like a man and want to talk to him? Then just
do it! Do not have a reason or search hard for one
to start a convo with someone you admire. Apart
from this giving you the opportunity to meet
someone new, it is also very exciting and fun. It
also puts you in a guy’s shoes for a second. Yes!
You get to see how hard it is for these people to
walk up to us and strike conversations for the first
time.

Brazil Grants One-Year Stay To Runaway Ghanaians

Brazil has extended a one-year stay to the
Ghanaian football fans who refused to leave after
the World Cup.
The over 200 Ghanaian supporters applied for
asylum in Brazil under the reported pretext of a
religious conflict in the West African state after
Ghana’s first round exit from the World Cup.
Ghana’s Sports Ministry is yet to get a response
from the findings expected to be made through
investigations to be carried out by the Ghanaian
embassy in Brazil.
The asylum seekers have however been granted
an initial one-year permit by Brazilian authorities
to stay and work in their country.
Some of the supporters have even filtered into
neighboring countries; Argentina and Ecuador with
others making their way north to the USA.
“We didn’t tell Brazilian authorities that there was
conflict in Ghana and for that they should grant us
asylum,” one of the granted asylum seekers
Hamidu Ahmed told Asempa FM.
“Each and every one of us came here with his own
reason which is definitely not a conflict situation.
“We have received our papers and some of us
have already started working. Some of us work in
industries and others work in the construction
sector.
“Some have however left into neighboring
Argentina, Ecuador and the likes. Others are also
traveling by road to the USA”.

Lagos female doctor contracts Ebola virus

The Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu,
on Monday said one of the doctors that treated the
Liberian-born American, Patrick Sawyer, who died
of the Ebola disease, had contracted the virus.
Chukwu made this known in Abuja as Reuters
news agency quoted the Geneva-based World
Health Organisation as saying in a statement that
Nigeria had four cases, of which three were
classed as ‘probable’ Ebola and one as
‘suspected.’
The death toll from the Ebola outbreak, according
to WHO, rose from 729 to 887 by August 1. The
total number of cases in the four West African
countries affected is now 1,603.
Sawyer, who arrived at the Murtala Mohammed
Airport, Lagos on July 20, died at an Obalende
hospital five days after.
Chukwu said, ‘‘This is now the second case of
Ebola virus disease in Nigeria. This victim is one
of the doctors who attended to the patient who
brought Ebola virus to Nigeria.’’
He also told journalists in Abuja that ‘‘about eight
other persons who came into contact with
Sawyer, and who had developed the Ebola
symptoms, had been quarantined while 70 others
were under surveillance.’’
The minister said, “All those who came into
contact with the late Sawyer depending on the
level of contact are still being traced and being
invited every day and they are placed under
surveillance just to ensure that the spread of
disease is curtailed.”
He added that the Federal Government was
currently reinforcing the technical working group
on Ebola to include 35 state governments. Lagos
State already has a TWG.
The minister allayed the fears being expressed
by the public about the corpses that were brought
into Anambra and Imo states from some countries
which already had records of the deadly disease.
He said, “Medical records have proved that the
corpse taken to Imo State was not carrying Ebola
while test is being carried out on the one taken to
Anambra State.
‘‘We are collaborating with all the state
governments to establish isolation wards for
persons proven symptomatic to Ebola and a 24-
hour emergency operation centre.”
The minister also on Monday inaugurated an Ebola
Treatment and Research Group with a mandate to
carry out an extensive research into the Ebola
virus.
Chukwu said the group would receive and verify
claims on Ebola cure; collate and analyse
researches on the virus and advise the
government as may be appropriate.
The group, according to the minister, has the
Director – General of the Nigerian Institute of
Pharmaceutical Research and Development and
the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of
Medical Research as chairmen.
He added that the Nigerian researcher, who had
found evidence of Bitter Kola inhibiting the growth
of Ebola virus, Prof. Maurice Iwu ,and the
Director-General of the Nigerian Centre for
Disease Control are also members of the group.
Iwu was also a former chairman of the
Independent National Electoral Commission.
Chukwu said, “Although the research on bitter kola
was not concluded, no progress can be made
without research. For now, there is no
scientifically proven vaccine or drug for the
treatment of Ebola.”
He assured the public that the Federal
Government was doing everything to stop the
outbreak of the disease but enjoined everybody to
embrace good hygiene by constantly washing their
hands

So Sad it’s no longer news that a Liberian man
named Patrick Sawyer has brought the deadly
Ebola Virus into Nigeria, Guys I must tell you that
we are looking at an epidemic. It was reported that
atleast 30 people who had contact with the man in
the hospital are now being tested, but what of
other people he met on his way to the Nigeria/
hospital i.e taxi driver, pilot, air hostess, hotel
Attendant etc Then how many people did these
people have contact with? in reality we are looking
at over 3000 contacts.
Now we are dealing with something we aren’t
even adequately prepared to handle. Medical
facilities do not have the hazard suits and do not
know the protocol for handling these cases. Its
sad.

Ebola: Sierra Leonean Athletes at Commonwealth Games Don’t Want to Return Home

A few Sierra Leonean athletes at the on going Commonwealth Games are running away so as not to return to their country amid the Ebola outbreak.
Recently, mountain biking champion Mohammed Tholley “vanished” from the competition in a bid not to return home. But the chef de mission of the country’s team Unisa Deen Kargbo claims he knows his whereabouts.
Kargbo tells the Times that the athletes are scared to return home amid fears they will be struck down by the killer disease.
A good number of the athletes have failed to turn up for four separate events, sparking fears that more of them could go missing.
“Many people are thinking whether or not to go home now. Everybody is worried and many of them don’t want to go home now because of the Ebola.
We have held several meetings with them, but they are still worried. This virus is spreading around our country and everyone is at risk of catching it.” Kargbo said and promised to investigate athletes who had not turned up at the various events.
On Friday 1st August 2014, Sierra Leone withdrew from the 4×400 men’s and women’s relay race as well as the men’s 4×100 men’s.
According to the Daily Mail, the drama in the Sierra Leone camp began when 32 year old cyclist Moses Sesay admitted to a Glasgow hospital and tested for various conditions including Ebola.
He and another team member Samuel Morris, later tested negative.

Sudanese Meriam Ibrahim, Sentenced To Death For Converting To Christianity, Has Been Freed

Meriam Ibrahim, the Sudanese woman who was sentenced to death last month for converting from Islam to Christianity has been freed.

‘The appeal court ordered the release of Mariam Yahya and the cancellation of the (previous) court ruling,’ Sudan’s SUNA news agency said. The couple’s 20-month-old son was also held in prison with Ms Ibrahim and her newborn daughter.

“Mikel Obi not good Enough” – Arsenal and Manchester United legends claim Chelsea ruined Mikel’s Career

Martin Keown has repeated views that Chelsea have hampered the development of John Obi Mikel
Nigeria got their World Cup off the ground on Saturday night, racking up a first win of the tournament over Bosnia.
Ahead of that game, BBC pundits Martin Keown and Phil Neville gave their assessment of Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel, a long standing fixture in the Chelsea squad.
And Keown in particular was less than complimentary about the midfielder’s progress.
“They feel in Nigeria that actually Chelsea have ruined him. He was a top talent as a 17-year-old.
“He was a really top player and was creative. I feel he wants to go and do something but he doesn’t have the pace really to make the difference in the final third.”
Asked to elaborate, Keown responded, insinuating that actually Mikel’s lack of speed is the real issue hampering his development rather than anything Chelsea have done:
“In the world tournament he played in at under-17 level, Messi was the player of the tournament, he was the second best player, he was that good.
“He hasn’t really trained on and kicked on and for me it’s a lack of pace that he simply doesn’t have.”
Co-pundit, and former Manchester United and Everton man Phil Neville was also critical of Mikel.
“He’s got such a big physical attribute, he should really be running forward almost Vieira-like.
“He takes touches on the ball, he slows things down, he doesn’t use that physicality he should be using.”
Mikel was touted as the sort of player who could make an impact creatively upon joining Chelsea, but ever since his arrival he became clear he was more useful to the Blues as a holding midfielder.
His usefulness to the club however diminished somewhat last season, the 27-year-old only making 11 Premier League starts, and has been linked with a summer exit.
Do you agree a lack of pace is what hampers John Obi Mikel? Will he stay at Chelsea?

GAME OVER BETWEEN KEYSHIA COLE AND DANIEL GIBSON

Sources close to the R&B singer, who wed the baller in May 2011, confirm that she has concluded drawing paper and plans to file them any day now.

Keyshia Cole is officially ending her three year-marriage to NBA player Daniel "Boobie" Gibson, three months after she and her husband separated.

In March, Keyshia Cole told Power 105.1 that "we just had so much of a great relationship, I felt that it would be possible" to split amicably and co-parent.
Noting that she'd never keep her child from Boobie, she added, “No matter how much I dislike this man, it’ll never be to a point where he can’t see his son, period.”
Moving words if ever such things have been spoken.
Interestingly, Cole just released a new single called "She" which seems to allude to a female lover: "Down to try something different / Lips and legs/ Soft skin so feminine / Curves like me / Covered in my cherry scent."
